Your Instagram posts and stories are ephemeral...
Travel memories should last forever.

You spent weeks — maybe months — traveling.
You photographed sunrises, wrote captions at midnight, filmed moments you never want to forget.

All of it lives on Instagram, great for sharing but at risk of being lost. One policy change, one account suspension, one hack - and all your photos and videos are gone.

Instagram lets you export your data, thanks to GDPR. What you get back is a zip file practically unusable.
This is where Carnets kicks in!

Carnets turns your travels into moments
you'll want to live again and again.

1

Export your Instagram archive

In your Instagram account settings, request a copy of your data. Instagram emails you a download link — usually within a few hours.

Upload it to Carnets

Drop your Instagram archive into Carnets. We handle everything — the messy encoding, the missing locations, the structure. It takes minutes, well worth the wait.

The chaos, the wonder, the in-between moments. The ones that become the story.

A weekend getaway

For every weekend that felt different from the last.

Short trips vanish fastest. Carnets makes sure this one doesn't.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your Instagram file is processed to build your journal and is not stored beyond what's needed. We never sell your data or use it to train AI models. Your content is processed on servers in the EU. Full details in our Data Processing page.
Yes. You see your complete journal before paying anything. Generate it, explore it, edit it — and only check out when you're happy with the result.
Yes. Your Instagram captions are a starting point, not the final word. You can edit any text, remove photos that didn't make the cut, adjust or add locations, and change the layout before your journal is finalised.
Instagram's HTML export is technically your data but practically unusable — broken special characters, no location data, no structure, no design. Carnets starts from the same raw export and does everything the HTML file doesn't: fixes the encoding, extracts the structure, and applies a layout worth looking at.
You keep everything. Your journal downloads as a self-contained file — it doesn't live exclusively on our servers. If we disappeared tomorrow, your downloaded journal would still exist exactly as you saved it.
No. All you need is the Instagram data export file, which you can download right now from Instagram's settings. Once you have it, Carnets works entirely independently of Instagram.
